From Jacqueline Steudler:
Thank you again for a wonderful intensive workshop on May 14 and 15. Yes, all the photos are on the website:
Please have a look how our giant puppets have evolved and come on out on Saturday, May 28 and Sunday, May 29 to start painting some of the puppet faces, adding hats, feeders and more.
We also have to start talking about the costumes for our giant puppets. I bring some fabric to get inspired. We create from 1-4 p.m. at the LWF Hall.
For adult participants: You might also join the Canal Days Community at the LWF Hall on Friday, May 27 at 8 p.m. to experience the transformed hall into a fabulous celebration venue with wine, cheese and chocolate tasting. A silent auction with lots of great items supports our Canal Days fireworks. If you need a ticket ($25 for one or $40 for two) they are available at Advantage Frame and Gallery at Highway 2 or send me an e-mail and I will sell tickets to you directly.
Hope to see you all soon at one or all of the above.
There will be a New Years Eve Dance at the LWF Community Hall located at 843 Fall River Road from 9:00pm to 1:00am, music is by DJ and tickets are $10.00 per person which includes a free drink. To reserve tickets call Barry at 861-1171, last years dance was sold out so while tickets are available at the door it is best to call and reserve in advance.
There are at least four New Years Day Levee’s in the District so feel free to drop by and visit friends and neighbours:

Waverley Legion on Rockey Lake Road – times are believed to be 12 noon to 5:00pm
Wellington Fire Hall on Hwy 2 in Wellington – times are from 1:00 to 8:00pm

The parade will begin on 28th November, 2010 at 1:00 pm from the LWF Community Hall at 843 Fall River Road and it will be a bit shorter this year ending at the Sobeys Store parking lot. An important part of this parade is that it is to support the Lions Christmas Express, donations of non-perishable good items along the route is appreciated.
